India labored to a win over Japan, after crushing China in their first game. They were listless and bereft of ideas, and really won the game thanks to another brilliant performance by Raghunath. The Indian field hockey vice captain and defender scored twice as defending champions India fought gamely to post a 3-1 win over a fighting Japan in the AsianChampionsTrophy hockey match on Friday.
Vice-captain Raghunath struck in the 22 minute but only to see Japan equalise in the 50th minute though a stroke. Raghu also scored in the 59th minute, while striker Gurwinder Chandi posted a goal in between in the 51st minute to confirm India’s victory.
